Here's the playlist on Youtube, which will be updated every two days with new tracks (so stay tuned!)

This is a soundtrack for a game I started making but never finished. It was to be a Zelda-like turn-based RTS game, set in a post-apocalyptic world where you control a party of dwarves as they use portal guns to jump between cave systems, constantly on the run from the personification of death. As you'll hear in the soundtrack, there's a lot of similar-sounding songs; the reason for this is that I was trying my hand at having an adaptive soundtrack, where the tone and instrumentation of the music would shift according to what location the player was physically present in...unfortunately, this was a massive undertaking for a solo dev, and I never got past the first two levels of the game. Never even made the combat system, even, but I did manage to finish the title screen (as you can see in the videos). But the tracks included in this OST cover the initial cutscene, the safe zone, and the danger area.

Tracklist:

  1. The Cavehoppers (3m09s)
    1. This is the title screen music for the game, introducing the first major musical theme with some low-key fusion jazz instrumentation.
  2. Dwarven Hopes (3m06s)
    1. This music is a romance theme, playing during the initial character selection -- the player chooses between a male or a female dwarf, one of a pair of lovers.
  3. Dwarven Dreams (3m07s)
    1. A more-intense version of Dwarven Hopes that plays after the main character has lost their true love in the opening cutscene, and must fight their way through a post-apocalyptic wasteland to a rumored dwarven safe haven.
  4. The Refugee Life (3m09s)
    1. This is the third musical theme of the game, which plays after the main character has reached the Refuge; there's three specific areas of the Refuge, a farm, a chapel, and a barracks, each with their own version of this theme.
  5. The Pasture (3m06s)
    1. The version of The Refugee Life that plays in the farm portion of the Refuge.
  6. The Flock (3m05s)
    1. The version of The Refugee Life that plays in the chapel portion of the Refuge, complete with a choir with lyrics written in Dwarf Fortress's dwarven language (have fun translating that lol).
  7. The Refuge (3m08s)
    1. The version of The Refugee Life that plays in the barracks of the Refuge.
  8. Endless Trials [Field] (3m09s)
    1. The fourth and final musical theme of the game, which plays as the main character forges a path through the hostile environment in search of the portal gun which will allow the dwarves to retake their fallen underground kingdoms. There's two specific versions of this theme for combat situations, one for the player's turn and one for the enemy's turn.
  9. Endless Trials [Player Turn] (3m09s)
    1. The version of Endless Trials that plays during the player's combat turn.
  10. Endless Trials [Enemy Turn] (3m08s)
    1. The version of Endless Trials that plays during the enemy's combat turn.

Total length: 31m15s
